DROPS Daisy is a soft, non-superwash treated yarn, spun from 100% extra fine merino wool. The fibres used in this yarn have not undergone any chemical treatment, meaning they have only been washed without any chemical treatments before being dyed. This process enhances the wool's natural qualities, allowing the fibres to breathe better and, consequently, giving garments better shape stability and texture quality.
Made with 4 strands spun together, which gives it extra elasticity, DROPS Daisy produces very defined stitches, making it especially suitable for patterns in moss stitch or with cables and textured stitches. Its tension is equivalent to that of patterns created for DROPS Karisma, DROPS Lima, DROPS Cotton Merino and DROPS Merino Extra Fine yarns (Yarn Group B).
The special spinning of this yarn also makes it very important to give proper treatment to garments knitted with it: make sure you achieve the correct knitting tension – always opt for a tighter tension rather than a looser one and follow the washing instructions.
The special spinning method of these fine and delicate fibres gives the garment a somewhat sensitive surface, making this yarn more suitable for fine garments as opposed to sports jumpers. It is also very important to care for the garment properly: always make sure you achieve the correct tension when knitting - or opt for a tighter tension rather than a loose one and follow the washing instructions.
As with all our other merino yarns, the merino wool in DROPS Daisy comes from free-range animals in South America and is mulesing-free.
This yarn is Oeko-Tex® certified (certificate number 23.HPE.36896), Standard 100, Class II by the Hohenstein Institute. This means it has been tested and is completely free of harmful substances and is considered safe for both humans and the environment. Class II means the yarn is suitable for direct contact with the skin in large fabric areas, such as blouses, shirts, mattresses, etc.
Please note that the colours shown may vary from monitor to monitor. Similarly, shades may vary slightly from one dye lot to another.
